Production steps of police badges

The production process of police badges generally includes the following steps:

Design: Police badge design is created using a computer program or a sketch. The design includes the shape, size color engraving seal and attachment of the badge. The design can be customized according to the officer’s preferences and needs

Die making: The badge design is transferred to a steel die using a CNC machine or a hand engraver. The die is used to stamp the badge shape on a metal sheet.

Stamping: The metal sheet is placed between two dies and pressed with high pressure to form the badge shape.

Trimming: After stamping, the excess material from the edges of the blanks is cut off using a trimming machine. This gives the badge a smooth and clean outline.

Polishing: The next step is to polish the badge to remove any scratches, marks, or imperfections from the previous steps. Polishing is a process of rubbing or buffing a surface with an abrasive material or compound to make it smooth and shiny. A polishing machine or cloth is used to polish the badge by applying pressure and friction.

Plating: The next step is to plate the badge with a thin layer of metal, such as gold or silver. Plating is a process of coating one metal with another metal using electricity or chemicals. Plating enhances the appearance and corrosion resistance of the badge. A plating machine is used to immerse the badge in a solution containing the desired metal ions and apply an electric current or chemical reaction to deposit the metal onto the badge surface.

Enameling: The next step is to apply enamel to the recessed areas of the badge, which are the spaces between the raised parts. Enamel is a type of glass-like material that adds color and durability to the badge. Enamel can be either hard or soft, depending on how it is fired (heated). Hard enamel is fired at high temperatures and has a smooth and glossy finish. Soft enamel is fired at lower temperatures and has a textured and matte finish.

Engraving: The final step is to engrave the badge with personalized information, such as name, rank, badge number, or department. Engraving is a process of cutting or carving letters or symbols into a surface using a tool or machine. An engraving machine or hand tool is used to engrave the badge by removing some material from the surface.

Checking and packing: After police badges are ready, they are quality-checked one by one. Defective products are taken out, only qualified police badges are packed for delivery.
